The Vicars of Saint Mary's Prittlewell from 1293 onwards

The earliest record of a vicar of Prittlewell is in the will of Richard de Southchurch dated 1293 which contained a bequest 'To Sir Thomas, vicar of Prittlewell, a gown of persee'
