Services at Saint Mary's
 Armistice Day Services An Act of Remembrance is held at the end of the 9.30 service at St Mary's on Remembrance Sunday, but the Corporate act of Remembrance is held at the town's War Memorial on the cliffs, overlooking the sea. This is the focal point on this day for all churches and civil authorities in the Borough of Southend-on-Sea. Trafalgar Day Service A special service is arranged each year, in October, for the Royal Navy by the Royal Naval Association. The Mayor leads civic representatives, and past and present members of the Royal Navy and their families attend this impressive service.
