The High Altar &
Sanctuary![]() In this picture the altar is clothed with a new frontal embroidered by and donated by a member of the congregation. The embroidery is worked mainly with gold and gilt threads. The completed panels together with braids, cords and fringe were hand-sewn onto the cotton damask frontal at the Royal School of Needlework. The central panel features the Canterbury Cross. On the side panels are the lily for St. Mary and a ship which represents St.Cedd sailing forth to spread Christianity, and also reflecting the Borough coat of arms. |
